National Monument Camp Amersfoort

The objective of the National Monument Camp Amersfoort is to keep alive the memory of the former "Polizeiliches Durchgangslager Amersfoort" from the Second World War. The museum pavilion exhibits photographs, drawings, objects, a scale model of the camp and other items, as well as a piece of wall on which a prisoner had done a painting.

The pavilion, a surviving watch tower and the bell cage with the roll call clock are part of the memorial. The statue of a prisoner facing the firing squad ("The Stone Man") and the rifle range, which was constructed by the forced labour of the internees, form part of the National Monument Camp Amersfoort. The original camp administration is divided between the Netherlands Institute for War Documentation and the War Aftercare Department of the Netherlands Red Cross.
