Drenthe Archive holds paper documents, parchment certificates, historical maps, newspapers, photographs, film and audio material and digital files of government organisations and private individuals They form the memory of society in Drenthe.

This includes the archive of the Central Refugee Camp Westerbork, which consists mainly of documents from the years 1940-1942, when the camp was under the control of the Dutch administration. The archive of the Provincial Military Commissioner of Drenthe also contains some material bearing on Camp Westerbork during the Second World War.
